Almost all I've bought in the last few years have been barely functional, or not even that. However, much to my surprise, this one actually does exactly what it says on the tin, and does it well. It's actually quite fun.In fact, some things it actually does better than some released games, such as the fact that the signals are automated without your having to do anything, and generally work quite well that way. Also, it makes good use of bypass lines or secondary lines, again, all automatically. It is however not perfect or finished, but still, it's very much playable and enjoyable. The parts that are not working well or are not there include:- there is no sandbox mode yet. But they tell you so up front. That's why it's Early Access.- the routing has a massive brainfart if it would need to go to another station and then back to reach the first station in a route. Instead it will start going back and forth between stations in the wrong direction.- at one point, cancelling track laying got me a bugged piece of rail in the wrong direction, that seemed to be still in build mode, but I couldn't continue it, delete it, or connect to it. I had to reload the game to get rid of it.- at one point, the objectives (contracts) stopped updating. Reloading the last autosave showed that actually the game was keeping track of completion, but was not updating the displayed list.- one single instance of crash to desktopAll in all, I'd say it's more than playable, and worth every cent I paid for it. Thumbs firmly up.. Like the idea of the game but it's frustrating, you either run out of money or run out of time for your missions. Some difficult setting or a little adjustment to the time would do fine. There is only a campaign mode at the moment.. SUMMARY: very solid and polished early access game, but there are still a lot of things that I want to be improved.Full reviewI put Yes to recommend this game, considering this is an early access game.BUGs I got some minor bugs. Sometimes buildings do not being removed during railroad construction, but that's a visual bug and don't ruin the game. Right now didn't get any critical bugs.Gameplay.It's not a transport game - it's more economy strategy railroad game. So it has deep economy, but not so deep railroad construction features. For example, when you make a railroad junction, signals will be placed automatic. It's save you from routine signal placement, but sometimes I want to place them manual. From other side - very nice train physics, that sometimes lacks even transport games.-PROS- it's really interesting to play- deep economy- multiplayer- really cute animated buildings ^_^-CONS- no sandbox right now (but promised in future updates)- no resource generation right now ((but promised in future updates)- no manual signals- cannot observe the map from a train. I loved playing RRT3 and this looks promising. The missions are challenging and you need to organize well to accomplish them. There are some bugs and things to improve.. REALLY EARLY ACCESS... needs work on multiple areas. I don't recommend at this time. Maybe if it gets support.. I am rewriting my review as I Have now played 11(bug and glitch free) hours and am on Mission 4 Carolina's and have the Dewitt Clinton, John Bull, and the Best Friend fully upgraded and the Jervis almost fully upgraded. I have yet to complete the objectives e.g. time or efficiency ... however I have been allowed to continue while still earning some experience to spend on training bonus stats and play at my own enjoyable pace. Railroad Tycoon was an awesome game and I played all of them for many hours. I have also played Railroad Empires. Sid Meier's Railroads and many others. Railroad corporation takes the best of those games IMHO and brings them to 2019.. Like the idea of the game but it's frustrating, you either run out of money or run out of time for your missions. Some difficult setting or a little adjustment to the time would do fine. There is only a campaign mode at the moment. Update 01: Balance & Time Limits: Hi everyone! One of the most common concerns we received since the release from players is a time limit set in campaign missions. In this quick patch, No.01, we are tweaking these limits so players are not pushed too hard to finish the mission fast, but for those who manage to complete tasks fast enough; there's an experience bonus you can earn.To see these changes, let the game automatically update through Steam and start a new campaign from the main menu. If you're in the middle of a mission now, the next mission will also reflect these changes.Of course, there are other critical issues we see and we are working on them already, too. Still, we decided to release this fix to not delay its delivery of what we think will improve gameplay experience right away.We appreciate all feedback, especially during this Early Access period, and we will take all of your comments and suggestions in consideration to further improve the game. We have exciting plans for Railroad Corporation in Early Access and we'll have a roadmap to share, soon!Thank you for your support!Love,The Corbie Games team.
